We MUST be grounded in the Word of God. The Word reveals who God is, how He speaks, and what love looks like in practice. Scripture anchors us in the nature of Christ so that what we sense and share flows from truth rather than impulse, emotion, or personal interpretation. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God… And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us” John 1:1, 14 ESV. When we stay rooted in the Word, our prophetic expression reflects and testifies of Jesus, not ourselves. “For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” Revelation 19:10b Without this grounding, prophecy is vulnerable to distortion and misuse. Being rooted in Scripture also guards us in humility and discernment. The Word trains the heart to recognize God’s voice, tests revelation, and rightly orders love, wisdom, and maturity alongside spiritual gifts. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is inspired by God and beneficial for teaching, for rebuke, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man or woman of God may be fully capable, equipped for every good work.; Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, even penetrating as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

Because we are made in God’s image (Genesis 1:26–27), prophecy participates in restoring that image. True prophetic ministry does not focus on exposing what is broken but on strengthening what is being made new.
Prophecy exists to strengthen, encourage, and comfort (1 Corinthians 14:3).
We are ministers of reconciliation, not judges (2 Corinthians 5:16–21).
Prophetic ministry flows from listening to Him sharing His heart. Not everything God reveals is meant to be spoken. He speaks to the treasure, not the flaw (2 Corinthians 4:7).
When correction is necessary, it is gentle, private, and restorative (Galatians 6:1).
Prophetic clarity flows from rest, not pressure. True revelation is received spiritually and then understood mentally (1 Corinthians 2:14; Ephesians 4:23).
